My name is Erica.  I currently live with my husband, Chris, and our 2 mini golden doodles, Zoë and Wash, in Cary, North Carolina.  Chris and I met only a few weeks into our freshman year of college in 2001 at UNC-Charlotte.  We transferred to NC State University (Go Wolfpack!) and graduated in 2005.  He proposed the day before our 4 year "dating" anniversary and we've been happily married since 2006! Our kids are puppies!

I currently work full-time for the Carolina Hurricanes.  I love my job and the people I work with.  I became a big hockey fan while in middle school and attended games for the then Raleigh IceCaps.  I won a car at an IceCaps game in 1995 when I was 12.  Being a little too young to drive at the time, I saved the money for college.

Spring 2017

So, how did I start making diaper cakes?  Well, it all began when two good friends were expecting their firsts.  I hosted their baby showers and wanted a cool gift for each of them.  I learned how to make the cakes and surprised them both with a diaper cake.  I made a couple more cakes over the next year or two (including one for our first niece!) and then decided I wanted to show my creativity by making these cakes.

I've come a long way since those first two cakes. As I make each cake, they often become my new favorite! I go through phases of loving to make cakes for girls because I get to use pinks and purples - then I make an adorable blue cake for a baby boy that I become excited about.  Now that I have 50+ diaper cakes under my belt, each one becomes easier to make and I'm excited to see what else I can come up with!
