Pink Elephant Diaper Cake

My Aunt Kathy asked me to make this cake for her neighbor's baby shower.  She just told me, PINK!  So, that's what I did.  I went in several different directions before I found the adorable pink elephant stuffed animal and some receiving blankets to compliment it.  Love how this one came out!

Kitty Diaper Cake

Safari Diaper Cake

Made a third cake for another one of repeat buyers.  I had a short time-frame to get this one done and after seeing the nursery crib set the mommy-to-be was using, I went with a Safari themed diaper cake.  I found really cute safari animal rattles and the diaper cake came together!  I had originally planned to place one animal on each layer but they were slightly too big for that, so doubling up on two layers was the perfect solution!

Sporty Pup Diaper Cake

This cake was made for one of my repeat customers.  The theme for her friend's baby room was puppy and sports.  Combining the two seemed difficult at first, and after a couple purchases, I finally found a combination of the two!  Everything tied together nicely and the "Sporty Pup" came to life!

Purple Giraffe Diaper Cake

Got another opportunity to design a diaper cake for an old co-worker of my mom's.  They both worked in real estate when I was in high school so I've known her for many years and she's one of my repeat buyers!  She emailed me recently requesting a third cake from me!

I was given free range with this one keeping within a purple and yellow color scheme.  I had seen the receiving blankets before and knew immediately I wanted to use them for this cake.  All I had to do was find the perfect giraffe to go on top!

Pink & Brown Polka Dot Diaper Cake

I received a call from a Soon-to-be Grandma asking for a pink and brown cake for her daughter.  She had attended a baby shower and saw the Pink Owl cake I had made for her friend - my first referral!

She asked that I use rhinestones to spell out Brielle.  To this point, I had never used rhinestones, but was eager to try something new.  I knew from the beginning that I wanted a cute teddy bear for the top  and was pleased when I found this one! From the rhinestones, to the polka dots, and the colors of the receiving blankets - I love how everything tied together on this cake!

Tigger Diaper Cake

Long before I was born, my mom met a wonderful couple and they've remained friends for more than 30 years.  Their youngest child was the closest in age to me, so I've known Lindsay since we were little kids.  Many years, our families would meet for New Year's Eve.  This would usually be our yearly get-together growing up but the two of us always had fun together!

Lindsay and her new husband, Matt, are welcoming their first baby.  Is it a boy, or is it a girl?  We don't know, but can't wait to find out!  All the best to my long-time friend!

Pink Owl Diaper Cake

This cake is a direct result of someone finding my blog online!  Before, all my cakes were created for friends.  Thanks to those friends for giving me the opportunity to be creative!  And, thank you to my first outside customer for giving me the chance to work with you to create a beautiful cake for Baby London! It's great to know that my hard work is starting to show and people like what I do... :)

One of the hardest things about making baby cakes is finding the perfect items to go together.  I typically ask for the nursery theme and colors.  Putting those two things together can sometimes prove to be challenging!  Many times I find the theme but not the right colors, or in the right size to fit the cake.  For this cake, I had no trouble finding pink owls; however, they kept being entirely too big!  My husband was kind enough to come along with me for this shopping trip.  After a few stores, he found my cake topper!
